Speed Dating
What it is
Short, one-on-one conversations in timed rounds. You’ll meet everyone in your group.
Why it works
No guesswork. You’re told exactly who you’re talking to and when, so there’s no pressure to approach or exit.
Best for
If you'd rather meet everyone in the room than wonder who you missed.
What to expect
The app will show you your first partner for the round. You'll either wave them over or find them in the room. Each round is six minutes — long enough for a real exchange, short enough that there's no awkward ending. When time is up, you move to your next partner until you've spoken with everyone in your orientation group. Results are released six minutes after the final round, giving everyone a chance to make any last-minute selections. You can update your choices for up to 24 hours after the event.
Mixers & Socials
What it is
An open social event with gentle nudges to keep things moving rather than a formal structure.
Why it works
You still have a reason to engage, but with more flexibility than a formal rotation.
Best for
If you like meeting people at your own pace without a timer running.
What to expect
You're free to talk to whoever you like for as long as you like — no rotations, no timer. To keep things moving, everyone gets a secret word through the app. Someone else in the room has a matching word. Find them, scan their QR code, and earn a raffle ticket. The word changes every ten minutes, so there's always a reason to keep circulating — and a graceful way to exit conversations that have run their course.
Team Trivia
What it is
A social trivia event where teams change throughout the night. You’ll play on several different teams, meeting new people each round.
Why it works
You’re immediately part of a group, so conversation starts naturally.
Best for
People who prefer group interaction over one-on-one pressure.
What to expect
We assign your first team and the questions begin. Teams rotate several times throughout the night so you get to interact with more guests. Points are tracked individually across all your teams — so there's a reason to bring your best to every round, not just the first one. Our hosts are trained to give everyone time to actually talk between questions rather than rushing through rounds. After all, the game may be something to do, but the conversations are the point.
Dinner Parties
What it is
Small-group dinners where Maka Connect helps place you with a compatible table for the evening.
Why it works
You get a quieter setting, longer conversations, and a different group each time you sign up.
Best for
Singles who prefer a small group environment with plenty of time for conversations to get deep and diverse.
What to expect
You take your seat and discover who you'll be spending the evening with. We've already done the work — profiles from everyone registered were used to divide guests into compatible tables of 6-8. We made the reservation. You just show up. Smaller group, longer conversations, and a table that wasn't assembled by accident.
